SYSCID partner Genos publishes paper in Gastroenterology on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
Causes of inflammatory bowel diseases are not well understood and the most prominent forms Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) are sometimes hard to distinguish. In front of this backdrop, the paper discusses the association between glycosylation of immunoglobulin G (IgG) with clinical features of these diseases and evaluates the result of the studies showing that patients with CD or UC had lower levels of IgG galactosylation than controls.
